Traffic Court Records in Waller County
Justice Courts Precincts 1 through 4 hear traffic and other Class C cases in their assigned areas. Brookshire, Hempstead, Prairie View, Waller, and Pattison municipal courts keep city ordinance and Class C matters within their jurisdiction. The citation's printed court controls. A city address or county highway location alone does not select the custodian.
The court record can show a cause or citation number, charge category, plea, setting, filed forms, disposition, fine, costs, and a failure-to-appear event where public. City payment pages and Certified Payments screens handle transactions. They do not replace the issuing court's docket or clerk-held file.
Route Waller Traffic Citations
JP1 is at 846 6th Street in Hempstead. JP2 is at 27388 Fields Store Road in Waller. JP3 is at 12620 FM 1887 in Hempstead. JP4 is at 32225 US Highway 90 Business in Brookshire. Each has its own number, forms, and rules. Municipal routes are equally distinct.
| Citation says | Start with |
|---|---|
| JP1, JP2, JP3, or JP4 | The named precinct office |
| Brookshire, Hempstead, Prairie View, Waller, or Pattison | The named municipal court |
| Court unclear | Issuing agency or citation contact before payment |
This routing step prevents a payment to the wrong Waller County traffic court.
How to Look Up a Traffic Ticket
Use the citation number or court cause number in the issuing court's system. JP1 and JP4 link Waller public access. JP1 payment accepts a docket number or Texas driver-license number when the docket number is absent. JP2 and JP4 payment routes need the case number and current amount. Waller Municipal Court's full-fine lookup requires the citation number plus date of birth or driver-license number. These payment fields are not universal search fields.
- Read the court, precinct or city, citation number, and appearance date.
- Use only that court's linked lookup or payment system.
- If the ticket is missing, call the court and ask for a narrow citation check.
- Visit or mail the court when its rules require a signed form or plea.
- Record the date, response option, balance, and confirmation number.
JP1 Waller Traffic Forms
JP1 publishes separate forms for dismissal, defensive driving, deferred disposition, compliance dismissal, guilty, not guilty or contest, payment plan, and inability to pay. Forms may be emailed to wcjp1@wallercounty.us, mailed, or brought to court. Filing a form is a request, not proof of dismissal.
The assigned official image shows the JP1 traffic options.

JP1 also warns that paying without a dismissal choice results in a conviction, so read the response form before using its payment link.
Finding Your Traffic Court Date
Start with the appearance date printed on the citation, then confirm it with the named court. A phone call alone is not an appearance at JP2 or Waller Municipal Court. Brookshire meets on specified Thursdays, while Waller publishes Wednesday arraignments. Those local schedules do not transfer to another court. A reset request also is not effective until the court accepts it.
| Citation number | Use the printed value; JP1 numbers may end in JP1 |
|---|---|
| Court | Named municipal or justice court |
| Date & time | Appearance, arraignment, or later setting |
| Location | Current court address or stated room |
| Status | Pending, disposed, paid, or warrant-related label where public |
JP2 Driving-Safety Rules
JP2 publishes a detailed checklist. The person must not have taken a course in the prior 12 months or have another pending or unreflected course. The offense must qualify. A CDL, a construction-zone offense with workers, speed more than 24 mph over, or speed over 95 closes the listed route. A valid Texas license and proof of insurance are required.
The official JP2 page is captured in the assigned image.

Eligibility should be confirmed with JP2 before sending a plea, fee, or course document.
Paying or Contesting a Ticket
Payment can act as a plea and disposition, not merely a way to reserve a hearing. JP1 warns that paying without a dismissal option results in conviction. Waller Municipal Court accepts online payment only for the full fine. Contesting means submitting a not-guilty plea through the method the named court accepts and awaiting a setting. Deferred disposition and driving safety are separate requests with eligibility and document rules.
| Paying the Ticket | Contesting the Ticket |
|---|---|
| May enter a plea and close the case | Requests a hearing or trial setting |
| Must follow the citation or court deadline | Plea must use the court's accepted method |
| Online, mail, phone, or counter only where offered | Written or in-person route set by the court |
Missed date: JP3 publishes a ten-day courtesy window, possible DPS renewal denial, collection and administrative fees, and possible capias pro fine consequences. Contact the court at once for current instructions.
JP3 Waller Payment Limits
JP3 accepts only money order or cashier's check. It does not accept cards, cash, or personal checks. The page lists a $25 time-payment fee after 31 days following judgment, a 30 percent collection fee after 60 days, and a $30 DPS administrative fee. A live balance must come from the court.
The assigned image records those Waller County traffic rules.

These terms apply to JP3, not to every justice or municipal court in the county.
Court Traffic Record vs Driver Record
The issuing court keeps the citation case file. Texas DPS keeps a separate state driver record. The court file follows the plea, forms, settings, payment, and disposition in one case. JP3 reports specified convictions, forfeitures, and course completions to DPS, but that reporting does not merge the two records. Obtain each from its own custodian.
| Court Traffic Record | Driver Record | |
|---|---|---|
| Kept by | Issuing JP or municipal court | Texas Department of Public Safety |
| Shows | Citation, plea, settings, forms, disposition, and court balance | State driver-history information |
| Access | Court lookup or clerk request | DPS order route |
JP4 Waller Payment Route
JP4 uses Certified Payments bureau code 8531372. The route needs the case number and fine amount and lists a 2.85 percent fee. Mail may include cashier's check or money order with the case and driver-license numbers. The counter accepts cash, cashier's check, money order, or card.
The assigned JP4 image shows the current court contact and payment details.

JP4's bureau code must not be confused with JP1 or JP2 payment codes.
Fees and Copies
The research does not publish one countywide traffic-copy fee. Ask the issuing JP or municipal clerk for a docket print, plain copy, or certified copy and a current quote. Payment processing fees are not copy fees. JP1 lists 3 percent for card payments, JP4 lists 2.85 percent, and Brookshire states 3 percent. JP3 does not accept cards.
| Item | Fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Plain traffic record | Ask court | No universal county fee published |
| Certified traffic record | Ask court | State the use and desired document |
| Card processing | Varies | JP1 3%; JP4 2.85%; Brookshire 3% |
City Portals Are Not Dockets
Brookshire's TrafficPayment asks for first and last name, driver-license number and state, ticket number, amount, passcode delivery, a six-digit code, and CAPTCHA. It warns that warrants cannot be paid there. Prairie View's Go2Gov page exposes a payment-type selector. Waller's page accepts only full-fine online payment. Pattison has no confirmed public citation portal in the reviewed official sources.
A missing result may mean the ticket has not posted, the wrong city was selected, or the court requires direct contact. Brookshire asks users to allow ten business days after citation. Use the court phone or counter rather than treating a payment-screen failure as a clean Waller County traffic record.
